Union Technologies seeks an ambitious operations leader. Have you tackled challenging projects? Managed shifts in high-tech factories? Excelled at coordinating multiple disciplines across expansive factory floors? We need a seasoned Production Associate Manager to lead a shift of multi-craft Production Supervisors in our high-volume, highly automated steel parts factory. With 10+ years of heavy industrial experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory role, you will drive data-informed production schedules, cultivate a safety-first culture, and ensure defense-critical operations deliver unyielding precision and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Optimize: Direct daily factory operations, ensuring safety, high uptime, rapid issue resolution, delivering superior product quality with flawless execution.
- Champion Safety: Build and nurture a world-class safety culture protecting people, plant, and planet.
- Mentor and Manage: Oversee production supervisors, engineering technicians, equipment operators, and support staff. Develop 24/7 shift coverage plans, enforce accountability through structured rounds, logs, and training programs.
- Drive Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives and employee development to enhance internal capabilities.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance teams to advance equipment development, run-offs, and handovers.
- Reduce Costs: Identify savings opportunities in purchasing, operations, and energy usage.
- Own Accountability: Take ownership within the factory walls—make swift decisions, mobilize offsite resources, and escalate issues before they escalate into crises.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years in factory operations, plant management, or industrial maintenance; 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Expertise: Mastery of quality systems, SPC data, production workflows, WIP management, bottleneck resolution, and regulatory compliance.
- Operational Skills: Proven ability to manage 24/7 shift operations and coordinate across disciplines.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in WMS, QMS, CMMS, SOPs, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and incident documentation.
- Problem-Solving: Track record in continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and cost reduction.
- Communication: Exceptional organizational and communication skills to distill technical issues for all stakeholders.
- Talent Development: Demonstrated success in building a robust pipeline of emerging talent.
