IAM Engineer Intern
Join our Information Security team as a Summer 2026 Intern and gain hands-on experience across Identity and Access Management (IAM) at Zoox. You'll have the opportunity to support real-world initiatives, including auditing and remediation of security vulnerabilities, contributing to IAM product enhancements, implementing improvements to credential management, and assisting with operational workflows such as SSO onboarding and service account lifecycle management.
In This Role, You Will...
- Support IAM operations by assisting with SSO onboarding, credential rotations, and service account management.
- Contribute to security and compliance efforts through auditing, analysis, and remediation of identity-related findings.
- Collaborate with engineers and developers to enhance IAM-owned products and implement improvements in dynamic credential management.
Requirements
- Currently working towards a B.S., M.S., Ph.D., or advanced degree in a Computer Science, Cybersecurity or Information Systems program
- Good academic standing
- Able to commit to a 12-week internship beginning in May or June of 2026.
- At least one previous industry internship, co-op, or project completed in a relevant area
- Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, California for the duration of the internship
- Interns at Zoox may not use any proprietary information they are working on as part of their thesis, any published work with their university, or to be distributed to anyone outside of Zoox
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of authentication concepts, access control, or general cybersecurity principles.
- Basic scripting or programming skills in languages such as Python or Golang
Bonus Qualifications
- Familiarity with REST APIs, SQL fundamentals, or version control (e.g., Git) is a plus but not required.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or IAM tools is helpful but can be learned on the job.
The monthly salary range for this position is $5,500 to $9,500. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level of education. Additional benefits may include medical insurance, and a housing stipend (relocation assistance will be offered based on eligibility).
