Join Zoox's Materials Engineering team and contribute directly to the development of our autonomous vehicle. In this hands-on role, you'll work in our laboratory environment, helping develop solutions for various vehicle systems including body safety structures, exterior components, and electro-mechanisms.
In this Role, You Will...
Conduct laboratory testing and materials analysis
Support fabrication of test components
Assist in engineering design and validation
Collect and analyze data that directly impacts vehicle design
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Technical Qualifications & Language Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Basic understanding of materials science principles
Laboratory experience and knowledge of safety procedures
Experience with mechanical testing equipment (UTM)
Experience with optical and digital microscope
Experience with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
Experience with Fourier Transform Infrared Microscope (FTIR)
Familiarity with mechanical design concepts
Basic fabrication skills

Strong data visualization skills with the ability to transform complex information into clear, actionable insights through charts, timelines, and other analytical frameworks (e.g. Gantt charts, dashboards, hierarchical maps)

Compensation
The monthly salary range for this position is $6,500 to $9,500. Compensation will vary based on role, degree level and type, and benefits will be offered based on eligibility. Additional benefits may include medical insurance, 401k, and a housing stipend.
